Mustard Shrimp Sandwich 1936

This recipe was adapted from 1,001 Sandwiches

Shrimp Mustard Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1-2 tablespoons French dressing (see below)

  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard

  • 1/4-1/3 cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped

  • 2 slices bread

Place chopped shrimp in a medium sized bowl. In a small bowl, whisk together mustard and French dressing the add to chopped a little at time, The idea is to “moisten” the shrimp but not have it be soupy. Place onto one slice of bread, close, cut diagonally and enjoy

French Dressing (old style)

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup olive or salad oil

  • 1 tb vinegar

  • 1/8  teaspoon salt

  • Small pinch of cayenne

  • 1/16 teaspoon white pepper

Combine and beat or shake thoroughly before using.

Plus up ideas: Arugula (peppery bite that goes well with tangy flavors), salted potato chips (brings some salt, crunch, and potato flavor that works well with both the tangy flavors and the shimp), or cajun seasoning (would absolutely slap, as the kids say).

If you want to switch it up a bit you could also toast the bread before making the sandwich. But that’s not really a plus up, is it?
